Does teeth whitening work on all teeth?
Teeth whitening will only bleach stains on the surface of the teeth. It will not work on intrinsic stains like dark shadows, dead nerves and tetracycline stains.
Any whitening treatment will only bring teeth that are crowns, veneers, fillings, plates, bonded etc, back to the original colour they were.
However, your teeth will not only be whiter after the session with Brighter White Smiles, but also lighter and brighter when the stains are removed.
The specially formulate gel does not damage the bonding, caps, veneers, plates, porcelain etc, and is exceptionally effective, with all of the teeth looking great on completion.
What can I expect from cosmetic teeth whitening treatment?
Most clients achieve a result 5- 7 shades lighter after Standard teeth whitening session; and 7- 14 shades lighter after Ultra White session. However, the result is highly dependent on the individual as everyone is different.
Perfect white ‘movie star’, teeth are usually the result of expensive cosmetic dentistry, such as porcelain veneers, not teeth whitening.
How long will the treatment take?
The session takes around 1 hr 45minutes depending on your treatment type.
How long will my results last?
This varies from person to person and depends on your diet, but the effects should usually last from 3-6 months to a year.
We highly recommend having a top up after 4-6 weeks to maintain the optimal result for a longer period.
Does the process hurt?
Please be advised that this is not a dental procedure; it is a cosmetic procedure. The teeth whitening technician will not be performing any invasive actions that might cause you pain.
The vast majority of customers experience no pain or discomfort. In extremely rare cases, some slight discomfort or sensitivity can arise, which will disappear in 2 days.
In the very unusual instance of sensitivity, we recommend Difflam Mouth Gel, which is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, and it can be put on both the teeth and the gums.
Post-operative advice and dietary requirement.
It is generally considered that the initial 48 hours post having teeth whitened, are often the most critical. Teeth may be considered more porous (their ability to absorb chromogenic substances) and this can impact the overall result of a teeth whitening procedure.
It is recognized that dark staining substances should generally be avoided for the 48 hours time period after a teeth whitening treatment. The general rule of thumb is to stay away from substances that would ordinarily stain a white t-shirt.
We suggest that after the teeth whitening treatment, clients should avoid eating in the following 3 hours.
We also suggest avoiding food and drinks that will stain (i.e coffee, red wine, berries, tumeric, green smoothies & green superfood powders) for 2 days after the treatment.
